"We only have three weeks left before we leave for Malaysia."
"Yeah I know. I need to start scheduling less shoots. I won't be able to give them their photos if I'm out of the country."
"No, I don't think you should do that. Keep scheduling them."
"MOM. I need a break."Stop telling me what to do.

She probably just wants you to keep working.
You're going to Malaysia again? Has it been a year?
Lol. I'm the opposite, I hate it when my mom doesn't have advice for me. Not to say I always follow her advice, but I like to just hear what shes thinking.
You are leaving for Malaysia??? Aww Fern, wish we could meet up but I won't be going there until April. hmph. Anyway, you know ... Moms are just Moms. They can't just stop themselves from giving advices or keeping their nose in their children's business. We can't blame them. It's like their instinct.
She's just being a mom.. mines the same. For Christmas she tried to tell me what, and what not to give people heh. and got upset when I didn't listen. She just wanted me to save some money.
I think it's a mom thing... mine does the same thing, just make comments like that without backing it up with any logical support. I think it's just their way of staying relevant in our lives?
You should do what you feel is right for you. And yes, you do need a break. I believe when you're over-worked your photography might suffer as a result. Not because of a lack of skill on your part, but because the motivation to create great pictures might not be as strong.
@sf2slc - Yes! CNY is earlier this year (Feb 3rd) so I'll be there from January 17th to February 9th.
@youngvan - I do ask my parents for advice frequently but I don't like it when they barge into my room and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
@kyalzinlay - Awwww!! Wish we were going at the same time.
@LillyVRose - @AzureRecollections - @TheTheologiansCafe - I guess I should disregard it as normal "mom" behavior... lol!
@misuterihomme - True! And I'm afraid that if I make clients wait too long for their photos it will give my business a bad rep. I'd rather take a few jobs and make those clients REALLY happy than take more jobs and only deliver so-so customer service.
yes! put your foot down!
i thought this conversation was between you and ryan until the last line. there goes the lovely vacation for two to malaysia out the window.
@IpowerhouseI - Hahaha I dream of the day when I can take him to Malaysia with me!!! My relatives would LOVE it!
Moms are moms, sadly. She just wants you to make more money and gain more experience, I guess.
